I was very happy to learn that Fred Obee was willing to run for city council. I observed him moderating a contentious debate years ago and he handled it well and stood his ground. He knows government and how it works and his writing is clear and well thought out. His local roots run deep and I think he will be an excellent addition to our city council. I hope he has your vote. — Flossie Bode
I'm very glad to see Fred is running for our City Council! Over the years, having read many of his journalistic writings, as a journalist for our local Leader newspaper, and as a citizen in various venues, I've always found him to have sensibilties, along with experienced local historic knowledge, about our local issues that have aligned with my visions and desires of the trajectories I'd like our town to be taking. Good luck, Fred! — Joni Blanchard

I don't personally know Fred Obee, but I have read his consistently fair writings over the years that he was at the Port Townsend Leader. I feel that he will be a fiscally pragmatic member of the City Council. He will make decisions based on what is best for Port Townsend and not what is best for his own interests. I can't think of anyone better to be elected to the City Council. — Cathy Beatty
I trust Fred to help do the right things for our city — Jim Tolpin
Working with Fred on the Chamber of Commerce board, I came to understand him to be a man of great integrity who was unafraid to state his position with a specificity always guided by thoughtful research and a humanness often unseen these days. I believe he will be a breath of fresh air to our city council. — Diana Talley
